Minister of Youth, Dr. Faris Braizat, met with a group of Transparency Knights via Zoom recently, as a part of a series of meetings conducted by the Jordan Transparency Center with a number of current and former officials to enhance communication between youth and various government institutions. Al-Braizat stressed that there will be no change in the national strategy for youth due to the Coronavirus, highlighting the importance of investing in youth community centers, and organizing volunteer work in Jordan.
Al-Buraizat stated that the ministry already owns 22 sports complexes and 15 youth hostels. Al-Braizat said that the ministry will work to open youth centers in universities, and has signed a number of agreements with a number of universities.
Regarding the virtual launch of the Al-Hussein labor and construction camps, Al-Braizat said that over 31,000 young people participated in the camps remotely this year. As for the upcoming parliamentary elections, Al-Braizat stressed that the ministry will work to encourage youth to participate actively in the upcoming elections.
Al-Braizat explained that the ministry actively seeks partnerships with civil society organizations. He mentioned that they have formed an agreement with the Jordan River Foundation to launch the Jordan Innovates initiative, in order to enable young men and women to direct their energies toward providing innovative solutions to the problems facing Jordanian society.
Regarding the mechanism of communication with Jordanian youth abroad, Al-Braizat said that the ministry is working on an integrated program to enhance communication with our youth outside Jordan.
At the end of the meeting, the CEO of the Jordan Transparency Center, Hilda Ajeilat, thanked the minister for accepting the invitation to speak. In turn, Al-Braizat stressed that there will be upcoming cooperation between the ministry and the Jordan Transparency Center to realize the memorandum of understanding signed between the two entities. At the end of his speech, Al-Braizat expressed his pride in the Transparency Knights and their role in encouraging the country’s youth and helping ensure a bright future for the Kingdom, with God’s help.
